Furano resort is in central Hokkaido. It is a world class resort that has hosted many world cup ski races, It is considered to be one of Japan's best resorts. Steep consistent runs that are serviced by fast gondolas is only part of the story. As well as the main gondolas, you have many quad and double chairs that take you effortlessly to the top of some superb on and off piste runs, some of which are up to 4 kilometres in length. The views are spectacular. This area is much colder than coastal Hokkaido (Niseko) ensuring top quality dry powder. You also get many blue bird days.
From the resort the views are magnificent, with the imposing peaks of the Daisetsusan National Park visible to the north and east.
From this resort you can do day trips to Kamui and Tomamu, two excellent resorts that also have great iight powder and superb views. Lift access at all these resorts is world class. You can also do day tours to Asahi dake.
